Health And Physical Education

#182 Physical Education (Girls) 1 semester 1/4 unit
#183 Physical Education (Boys) 1 semester 1/4 unit

Physical Education is required of all freshmen and sophomores.  Activities offered include: archery, fitness, recreational sports, softball, lifetime sports, speedball, tennis, and volleyball.
**This course does not count in class rankings or G.P.A.

 

#282 Advanced Physical Education: Team Sports and Games 1 semester 1/4 unit
Open to grades: 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12
PREREQUISITE: Successful completion of Basic Physical Education of for individuals with advanced skills (instructor recommendation)
This class also emphasizes team games and sports (see Basic PE above) but at a more competitive, structured level for students of higher skill level.  Other non-traditional games (including relay races) could be emphasized, based on students interest and instructor expertise.

#184 Health 1 semester 1/2 unit
Health is required of all freshmen.  Health units taught include: first aid, sex education, disease, consumerism, chemical substances, CPR, mental health, nutrition, physical health, and sexually transmitted diseases.
