| Open to freshmen and sophomores only. Manufacturing Technologies is a career pathways foundation course designed to expose students to processes of engineering as well as the design and manufacturing of products. Students are introduced to manufacturing processes through practical hands-on training in semi-precision and precision measurement, machining, welding, industrial electricity, mechanical mechanisms, plastics, and blueprint reading. Students are also taught how computers and technology are incorporated into manufacturing processes with an emphasis on Computer Assisted Drafting (CAD), Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM), and Computer Numerical Control (CNC) programming. In addition, students are provided an opportunity to learn about many career pathways related to manufacturing. This is ideal for those thinking of pursing careers in manufacturing or engineering. |

| This is an introductory course in mechanical drawing. Students will be learning about lettering, drafting geometry, dimensioning, orthographic projection, and pictorial drawing. Students will also learn how to use AutoCAD (computer aided drafting) in their work on mechanical drawing problems. The students will be provided with an opportunity to learn about many career possibilities related to the mechanical drawing field. A lab fee is assessed. Not intended for students who have completed or who are currently enrolled in Manufacturing Technologies. |

| Students enrolling in this course will learn the basic electrical wiring systems related to residential wiring and repair. A project will be constructed to demonstrate safe working habits, electrical tools, reading blueprints, and electrical circuitry. Fees are assessed for a workbook and lab. |

| Open to freshmen and sophomores only. The student will learn the basics in layer control, dimensioning, geometric tolerances, orthographic projection, multi-view projection, architectural, and isometric drafting. The class will benefit the college bound student in pursuit of a 2 or 4-year degree in either the field of engineering or architecture. NOTE: Not intended for students who have completed or who are currently enrolled in Manufacturing Technologies. |

| PREREQUISITE: Technical Drawing 1 and
recommendation of previous instructor.
In this course the students are involved with an extensive coverage of orthographic projection, sections, auxiliary views, revolutions, surface developments, dimensioning, pictorial drawing, and detail assembly work. Students will learn and use additional AutoCAD skills in this course. A lab fee is assessed. |

| In this course the students will learn about various aspects of woodworking. They will learn about various kinds of woods, hand tools, woodworking machines, cabinet construction, fasteners, wood finishing, and project design. Wood Technology 1 is a hands-on/problem solving type of class, where students design and build wood projects. Wood Technology 1 not only provides the student with an opportunity to explore several vocational possibilities, but also is beneficial to the general education of any student. A lab fee is assessed. |

| Open to Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors. In this course students will learn about types of house design, house construction, and architecture drawing principles. Students will use class time to draw a set of house plans, consisting of floor, elevation, foundation, wall detail, electrical, plot, and kitchen cabinet layout. They will learn how to make blueprints of these plans. They will also us AutoCAD to draw their plans with a computer. A lab fee is assessed. |
